What a great meeting we had at UTA. It was wonderful to find out how UTA has expanded over the years to include TRAX and FrontRunner. It was also great to meet some of their buyers and find out how their Purchasing Dept. works.
Attached to this post are two handouts that show the outline of their Procurement, Grants & Contracts Dept. Janalee Hansen presented most of the information. However, if you are interested in getting to know the purchasing agent that works most closely with your service or commodity, you should contact Susan Bellenger at 801-287-3008 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Susan is the person who will be able to direct you to the right purchasing or contract agent.
There are three main categories for purchasing:
- Small Purchases under $3,000. These purchases are usually made with a P-card and don't require bids.
- Small Purchases range from over $3,000 to under $100,000. These purchases require at least 3 bids and have more requirements associated with them.
- Formal Advertised Procurement are purchases over $100,000. These purchases require a public advertisement period
