"Let’s Get Social about Business" Our speaker, Alex Lawrence is a serial entrepreneur with a number of new companies under his belt. He understands small business because he has lived small business! He is well-versed on using social media to market your company and make connections with potential customers, investors and future employees. Alex is Utah’s 5th most followed Twitter account with over 46,000 followers. Yes, you read that correctly: 46,000 followers! Besides his involvement in small businesses, Alex also teaches Internet Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Weber State University. He also writes a regular column for Utah Business Magazine. His schedule is so full that we feel very fortunate that he has agreed to speak to our group.

Our speaker, Mr. Jim Phillips presented: “Building, Selling and Protecting Brand YOU”. Jim Phillips directs the instructional design, training and leadership development for the Motor Carrier Division of the State of Utah’s Department of Transportation. He develops, writes, records and delivers training materials in both in the classroom as well as through technology in the form of e-learning. He is a Certified Public Manager (CPM). In a former life he was a purchasing professional for more than thirty years. His experience came from both the Public and Private arenas. He worked for a major worldwide organization, a small food and hospitality operation as well as two government agencies. Jim has the unusual distinction of having worked both sides of the buying/selling table. For several years he worked in Retail as well as Industrial Sales.
